Welcome to The Human Upgrade Report
Let's upgrade your biology together, in a new way.
Welcome to The Human Upgrade Report
Hey, it’s Dave.
Two decades of biohacking. Over 1,000 podcast episodes. Close to $2 million spent upgrading my biology. People keep asking: “What are you thinking about right now?”
This Substack answers that question.
Get direct access to real-time thinking on trends, breakthroughs, and the BS versus what actually matters in biohacking, health, technology, business, and consciousness.
Why Substack?
Social media algorithms bury the best thinking. Platforms prioritize engagement over truth. This is a direct line. No algorithm between us. Just unfiltered analysis on what’s happening right now.
What You Get
Real-Time Experiments: Live reports from testing new biohacks, technologies, and strategies. Results - good or bad.
Trend Analysis: Signal versus noise on AI, longevity tech, consciousness expansion, and health trends.
Controversial Takes: Challenging conventional wisdom with data. No holding back.
Actionable Protocols: What’s working right now, not what worked five years ago. Use these immediately.
Consider: A Lot of People May Be Wrong About Longevity
The longevity space has a dangerous blind spot.
Everyone obsesses about living longer. But here’s what nobody discusses: You can’t biohack your way to a long life while living in constant stress, disconnection, and spiritual poverty.
The data proves it - cellular age doesn’t care about NAD+ levels when your nervous system thinks a bear is chasing you 18 hours a day.
Biohackers focusing only on supplements and cold plunges miss the point. Longevity people tracking only biological age optimize for the wrong metrics.
What actually works:
Create strategic stress exposure. Stop trying to eliminate all stress. Learn BICEP (Brief Intentional Conscious Exposure to Pain) followed by deep recovery. Mitochondria need this oscillation.
Upgrade relationships first. Blue Zones data shows people live longer because of deep community connections and purpose, not better food. Optimizing biology while relationships suck? Doing it backwards.
Prioritize consciousness over supplements. After a decade running neurofeedback sessions with billionaires and CEOs, the pattern is clear - the ones who thrive did the deep inner work, not the ones taking the most pills.
This is hard data, not woo-woo nonsense. Autonomic nervous system function, mitochondrial performance, inflammation markers - all respond to mental and emotional state as much or more than diet.
The Deal
No wasted time. Every piece published here comes from active work, current thinking, or real implementation. No fluff. No recycled content. No marketing speak.
Sharing a protocol? Currently using it or extensively tested it with real people getting real results.
Calling out BS? Did the homework and the data doesn’t support the hype.
Sharing controversial takes? The conversation needs to happen.
What This Needs From You
Make this a two-way street. Drop questions. Push back. Share what you’re struggling with, curious about, and want covered.
Challenge ideas. Report when something shared here changed your life, or when a recommendation didn’t work. Build collective intelligence together.

Upgrade Together
The world designs you for a “good” life, not a great one. Food, job, social media feeds - all optimized to keep you mediocre and complacent.
Twenty years of work broke free from that pattern. Took control of biology, mind, and life. Upgraded from “good enough” to exceptional.
Still learning. Still experimenting. Still failing regularly. But relentlessly committed to getting better.
Come along for the ride.
Dave
